Zollanvari: Under the sign of the lion
The lion has been a prominent symbol to humankind for tens of thousands of years; in Persian mythology, the majestic animal is a symbol of valour and sovereignty. Indeed, in the course of the Iranian history, no other symbol has been so long-lived or meaningful.
With their new „lion collection“, Zollanvari now offer carpets with modern images of the "King of the Beasts", produced in traditional handicraft.

Zimmer Austria: Carpet printing, far from superficial
Zimmer Austria's Colaris printing machines provide 100 % penetration – to the effect that the clearly defined pattern will also appear on the backside of the carpet, just as though it had been knotted or woven from yarns in different colours.
Colaris printers come with an open ink system that works with a wide range of inks from various dye manufacturers. Accordingly, almost any fibre base can be printed: polyamide, wool or polyester. Especially cationic dyeable polyester is said to have a good potential. Additionally, the excellent colour yield of up to 100 % fixation counts for a substantial ink saving and may eliminate the need of post-print washing in many cases: a substantial contribution to a clean environment.

Christian Fischbacher: Flowers and art on chenille flat weave
The new Prêt à Porter collection of carpet maker Christian Fischbacher combines cotton chenille with novelty yarns in an elaborate jacquard weave that gives the flatweave a highly tactile surface. Some carpets are transfer printed as a refinement.
The collection spans six designs ranging in tone from subtle to richly vibrant. The Estival design recalls the watercolour flowers and leaves of Mexican art, while Celestial brings out countless stars and constellations. Then there’s Interfloral, featuring giant flowers in precise detail, and Lisboa – inspired by Portuguese floor tiles. Linares is a design of wavy lines that recall a river bed, and last but not least is Fiesta, with superimposed colour zones.
All rugs are Oeko-Tex certified and come in the four standard sizes of 140 x 200 cm, 170 x 240 cm, 200 x 280 cm and 240 x 340 cm.

Rezas: Dense virgin wool handloom rugs – unicolour or with gradient

In the words of Rezas owner Reza Rejaye: “Panorama is a collection of top-quality handloom rugs. We exclusively use high-quality virgin wool and take particular care in processing it.”

Zollanvari: Intensive Farben, lebhafte Designs
A while ago, some providers limited themselves to brown-to-beige tones, but Zollanvari has always been unrestrained when it comes to colour. Cheery and lively additions to the company’s Gabbehs Abstract & Plain and Gabbehs Flora & Fauna product lines were presented in the digital edition of Parisian trade show Maison & Objet. Starting with “Kaleidoscope”, with bold colours and expressive, kaleidoscopic patterns, and the Naïf Collection – a “child’s-eye” reinterpretation of nomadic rugs with stylised animals and plants. Then there’s “The Name of the Rose”, featuring a large, naturalistic rose blossom, and the Kyoto Shibori and Kyoto Kasuri designs with a distinctly Japanese feel.

Manfred Barfuss: Hand-woven rugs made of recycled PET bottles
Manfred Barfuss’ Pro Natura Collection comprises hand-knotted (Eco Rug, Eco Shaggy), hand-tufted (Eco Loop) and hand-woven (Summertime) rugs made of a wool-like yarn derived from recycled PET bottles.
The Summertime product is hand-woven in India in a variety of very natural-looking yet vibrant shades. Usable on both sides both indoors and outdoors, these easy-care rugs are very popular with the public, according to Barfuss, and come in three sizes: 80 x 75 cm, 130 x 190 cm and 160 x 230 cm. Paulig: Shimmering surfaces, colour melanges
The Star Collection of Paulig Teppiche: silky, shimmering viscose and virgin wool. Paulig has launched a new and very flat flatweave line: Star Moda, with viscose wrapped delicately around lightly coloured woolen yarn, creating a subtly changing surface. The products are available in 18 colour combinations.
The Star Atoll line rugs are made of densely thick wool yarn interwoven with Star yarn that casts a delicate sheen, creating a catchy, intriguing look. The viscose yarn for combining with the taupe-hued wool weft thread can be unicolour or bi-colour. Star Atoll rugs come in all 18 colours of the Star Collection, and like Star Moda are available up to a weaving width of 600 cm.
Beat Tamoure is an allover design with casually distributed horizontal pattern elements and fine colour accents. The characteristic black warps of the Beat Collection accentuate the tones of the melange yarns, and the very flat woven structure of these rugs makes them ideal for entrances and dining areas. The Beat Tamoure E 125/62 product comes in all colours of the Beat Collection, and is available in weave widths up to 400 cm.
