Zollanvari: Under the sign of the lion

The lion has been a prominent symbol to humankind for tens of thousands of years; in Persian mythology, the majestic animal is a symbol of valour and sovereignty. Indeed, in the course of the Iranian history, no other symbol has been so long-lived or meaningful.

With their new „lion collection“, Zollanvari now offer carpets with modern images of the "King of the Beasts", produced in traditional handicraft. With the stylish designs by NOV24 Studio (Vienna) and Sofar Sonear Studio (Milan), Zollanvari celebrates its 75th anniversary. Another brand new addition to the Zollanvari product range are artistic figurines and plates made of porcelain: the lions have been modelled on historical lion figures and mirror the patterns of the Zollanvari carpets; the plates also show carpet patterns.
