Wayfair has grown strongly during the pandemic. In the first quarter of 2021 alone, the US online retailer for home furnishing products had almost doubled its sales year-on-year (+49.2 %), to USD 3.5 billion (around EUR 2.9 billion). The US-turnover in those three months was 2.8 billion USD (about 2.3 EUR, +42.8 %). Now the company wants to grow further in the European market, hiring 500 new software specialists for its European headquarters in Berlin, which would double the IT workforce.
