Domotex Asia / Chinafloor to be held in Shanghai in May

The 26th edition of Domotex Asia / Chinafloor will return to its usual spring date and location in Shanghai, after the pandemic has shaken up the show calendar in recent years. Over 1,600 exhibitors and brands from across the flooring industry are expected at the National Exhibitions and Convention Centre (NECC) over the three days from 28-30 May 2024. A total of 230,000 square metres of exhibition space is expected to be covered in eight halls.

In 2024, Domotex Asia / Chinafloor will once again attract trade visitors from the carpet industry looking to tap into the flourishing Asian markets. The show is the largest gathering of the carpet industry in the region and covers all segments of the textile flooring supply chain, from fibres, yarns and all other raw materials to machinery, production technologies and all types of finished products such as residential and commercial carpets, rugs, mats and various types of home textiles.

Many leading companies in the carpet industry have already confirmed their participation. These include Bulckaert, Haima, Oriental Weavers, Paulig, Ruixin, Shanhua, Standard Carpet, Freudenberg, Groz-Beckert, Owens Corning, Staubli, Trutzschler, Universal Fibers, Van de Wiele, Zimmer.

The 2023 edition, held in July, marked the event's successful return to the international stage after a three-year pause due to the closure of Chinese borders during the pandemic. With 83,594 visitors from over 110 countries, the show set an all-time attendance record and confirmed its leading position in the Asia-Pacific region. The strong international presence on both the exhibitor and visitor sides demonstrated that China remains an important hub for international trade in the flooring industry and that confidence in the region has returned. China continues to offer many opportunities as a manufacturing and consumer market. At the same time, other nearby South East Asian markets are also growing rapidly.

Last year Domotex Asia / Chinafloor welcomed over 14,000 international visitors. This number is expected to increase in 2024 as China continues to expand its trade relations with the world. In particular, visitors from key European markets such as Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands will be able to enter China visa-free for up to 15 days from 1 December 2023. The organiser is focusing on hosted buyer programmes to ensure the platform best supports the resumption of flooring trade relations between China, Asia and the world.
