Danish interior retailer Jysk is continuing its global expansion with plans to open up to 100 new stores in major European cities over the next three years. The company is increasingly focusing on central locations in capitals such as Dublin, Madrid, Oslo, and Amsterdam to reach urban customers more effectively. Since its founding in 1979, Jysk has primarily concentrated on peripheral locations and medium-sized towns to benefit from larger floor spaces and parking facilities.
According to President and CEO Rami Jensen, the group is now responding to the untapped potential of high-footfall city centre areas. The first 30 of these urban stores are scheduled to open by the end of the current financial year in August 2026. The completion of the remaining 70 units is planned by August 2028. Most recently, new stores were opened in the centres of Dublin and Amsterdam in April.
