Italian carpet supplier Tapis Rouge has a new sales director for the EMEA markets (Europe, Middle East, Africa). Carlo Tuna will be based in Italy and will be responsible for the contract, interior design and trade sectors. Tuna has many years of experience with luxury brands in business development, product design and interior design.
Rami Jensen is the new President and CEO of Jsyk. He succeeds Jan Bøgh on 1 September 2023. The 44-year-old officially joined the company a year ago as Deputy President and CEO. In his new position, he now has overall responsibility for more than 3,300 stores in 48 countries and more than 30,000 employees.
Knutzen came out on top in a recent study of German home textiles and floor coverings chains: It was conducted by the Institute for Service Quality (DISQ) on behalf of the news channel NTV. With 82.3 out of 100 points, the North German furnishing chain received the grade "very good"; all other specialist store chains were rated "good". In second place is carpet specialist Kibek ("good"), in third place Hammer. They are followed by TTL, TTM and Tedox.
Starting with the next edition, the Heimtextil trade fair is expanding its range of products in the carpets and rugs product segment. The response has been positive: according to Messe Frankfurt, more than 75 international exhibitors have already signalled their strong interest in taking part in the new Carpets & Rugs product segment.
On 11 September, Carpet Week Hamburg will start its third round. The number of participating importers and wholesalers is larger than ever before: in the week from 11 to 17 September 2023, 36 Hamburg carpet suppliers will open their warehouses and showrooms to international trade buyers. 
Since 1 August, PAD has had an additional managing director in the person of Dr. Jens Hourle. Together with owner and managing director Michael Rossmann, he will continue to drive the growth of the German company from Mertingen. Hourle holds a PhD in law and has many years of expertise in strategic corporate development. He was previously already working as an advisor to PAD and was involved in the company's growth strategy.
The third edition of Carpet Week Hamburg is just around the corner and is expected to be significantly larger than the two previous editions. Thirty-six carpet suppliers invite to visit their warehouses and showrooms in Hamburg from 11 to 17 September. In this time Hamburg will host a very diverse range of goods, including carpets, flatweaves and accessories from all the main countries of origin. All styles will be represented, from classic and modern Afghan carpets and modern South Persian nomadic carpets to antiques and one of a kind pieces with classic designs - from rustic to fine silk - including, of course, handmade collection carpets and high-end designer carpets. The type of companies exhibiting is also very diverse, ranging from small specialist retailers to full-service suppliers.
