Flanders Flooring Days: Mc Three and Osta participate for the first time

After the successful premiere in 2022 with more than 1,000 visitors from over 55 countries, the Flanders Flooring Days want to be "even bigger and better" this year. To achieve this, twelve Flemish flooring manufacturers will open their showrooms and factories to customers from all over the world from 22 to 25 May 2023. The flooring manufacturers Associated Weavers, B.I.G. (Beauflor, Berry Alloc, Real Orotex), Belysse (ITC, Modulyss), Betap, Condor Group, Coretec Floors, Lano, and Unilin (IVC, Unilin) will be there. For the first time, rug manufacturers Mc Three and Osta are taking part. All locations are within a radius of 25 km and are therefore easy to reach.

Carpet auctions at Rippon Boswell, all dates 2023

Rippon Boswell, the German auction house specialising in antique rugs, has announced its dates for 2023. There will be three carpet auctions this year. The major spring auction will take place on 3 June, the major autumn auction on 25 November. Already on 18 March there will be an online-only auction. Here, mainly affordable collector's items will be offered.

Debbie Klein had been CEO of Leen Bakker since 2018 and additionally took over the management of Kwantum in 2020. Albert Voogd has 30 years of experience in retail. Homefashion Group is active in the Benelux with 276 brick-and-mortar shops and four online shops.

Deutsche Messe 2022 above plan

Although trade fairs and events in Germany in 2022 could only take place from the second quarter onwards due to Covid restrictions, Deutsche Messe is drawing a positive balance for the financial year: at EUR 202 million, turnover is around EUR 5 million above the planned figures. Kortrijk: Design Nation to replace Biennale Interieur

The trade fair organiser Kortrijk Xpo has developed Design Nation, a trade fair format that is to replace the Biennale Interieur. The new fair is to take place from 19.10.2023 to 20.10.2023. In other words, only two days instead of the ten days that were previously usual. In this way, the organisers want to make the fair more efficient for the exhibitors. The exhibited product categories include furniture, beds, lighting, floor coverings, rugs and textiles.

Domotex Hannover to remain annual, no further spin-offs planned

So it is after all: Domotex is sticking to its rhythm and will continue to take place every year in January in Hanover, although with different focal points. In 2024, and in all even years thereafter, Domotex - Home of Flooring is to take place as usual.Starting in 2025, Domotex Carpets & Rugs will focus on exhibitors from the range of hand-made carpets as well as machine-made carpets and carpeting in the odd-numbered years. Further activities in Istanbul are completely off the table. In this way, Deutsche Messe AG, as organiser of Domotex, wants to avoid a fragmentation of the market through further trade fair offerings.

Frankfurt consumer-goods fairs draw positive conclusions

The leading international consumer-goods fairs Ambiente, Christmasworld and Creativeworld were held together for the first time in Frankfurt from 3/4 to 7 February 2023. 4,561 exhibitors occupied the entire Frankfurt exhibition centre on 352,950 gross square metres and presented their new products to 154,000 trade visitors from all over the world. Participants from more than 170 nations enjoyed the personal encounter. In addition to the merging of living worlds, the top theme of sustainability moved into focus.

Poco expands in eastern Germany

Germany's largest discount supplier for furnishing and renovation is expanding in eastern Germany and coming to Gera, a city with 92,000 inhabitants: Poco is expected to open its 127th furnishing store there in the summer.
