The international furniture and interior design fair IMM Cologne will take place in January 2024 with a five-day run from Sunday, 14 January to Thursday, 18 January 2024. After a break due to the pandemic and the special imm Spring Edition taking place in June 2023, the interior fair will resume its established date from next year.
A successful new start. After Domotex was cancelled two years in a row due to the pandemic, the world's leading trade fair for floor coverings and carpets started up again from 12 to 15 January. In eight halls - some of them quite airy - more than 730 exhibitors presented themselves to international visitors, 69 % of whom came from outside Germany. 
Heimtexil, the leading international trade fair for home and household textiles, ended on 12 January. According to the fair management, 44,000 visitors and 2,400 exhibitors from 129 nations attended the four days of the fair. The strongest visitor countries included Germany, Italy, Turkey, the USA, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Pakistan, India and Greece. Compared to 2020, Heimtextil 2023 recorded an increase in internationality to 94 percent among exhibitors and 82 percent among visitors.
In Carpet Home I/2023 one focus is Domotex. After a two-year pandemic break, the carpet world can meet again in Hanover. Carpet Home spoke to Sonia Wedell-Castellano (Global Director Domotex) in the run-up and looks at the extensive side programme. The cover story is dedicated to Otto Golze. Peter Willborg's book "Chahar Mahal va Bakhtiâri" from 2022 is a reference work for Bakhtiar carpets. After the author's death, the remnants of the book are to be destroyed at short notice. For this reason, the staff of Willborg's carpet gallery in Stockholm have launched an appeal to preserve as many books as possible for the carpet world. The books will be given away free of charge to anyone who is interested. Only the transport costs have to be paid. The minimum quantity is 6 books (= 17,6 kg). With the Pure Galleries exhibition format, the IMM Spring Edition of IMM Cologne in June 2023 is to be made extra lively. The name says it all with the new concept: inspired by generous exhibition formats from the art sector, the spaces of Pure Galleries are to convey the atmosphere of an art gallery. In Hall 11.2, around 75 stands in various sizes, shapes and arrangements will provide a home for well-known brand manufacturers from the furnishing sector.
Carpet Home is returning after a two-year break in the action to present the Carpet Stars again at the upcoming Domotex, awarded to carpet traders for exemplary sales and selling concepts. This year’s Stars will be awarded in the four categories of Exemplary Carpet Retailer, Exemplary Carpet Department, Exemplary Online Carpet Retailer and Exemplary Multichannel Carpet Retailer, with a special award additionally presented for Lifetime Achievement.
