Tapijt Museum Genemuiden reopens

Following extensive modernisation, the Carpet Museum in Genemuiden reopened in September 2025. Queen Máxima performed the official opening ceremony on 11 September. The exhibition traces the development of carpet production – from rush mats in the 18th century and later coconut and sisal fibres to modern synthetic yarns. With working machines, multimedia elements and a hands-on zone, the museum addresses trade visitors as well as families and school groups.
