The International Conference on Oriental Carpets (ICOC) will return to Italy next year. From 27 to 30 May 2027, the historic northern Italian city of Brescia will host the XVI ICOC. Dr Peter Bichler, Chairman of the ICOC International Committee, and organiser Alberto Boralevi selected the new location after initial plans for Milan were set aside due to high costs. The Centro Paolo VI conference centre, situated in the heart of the old town, will serve as the main venue. The ICOC is co-operating closely with the Tassara Foundation and the MITA Museum (Museum of Antique Carpets in Brescia), which houses one of the most significant rug collections in Europe. In addition to lectures, the programme is set to include a Dealer’s Fair for up to 70 exhibitors and exhibitions of notable private collections. Milan may still feature in the programme through post-conference excursions.
