Makalu/Paulig: Visualising high-quality carpets via the Makalu app

Makalu Design has been turning sophisticated designs into high-quality carpets for 35 years. Every year, the company's own design studio adds new ideas to its collections. In addition, all designs can be individually adapted to customer wishes and needs. There are 325 colours (plus special colours) to choose from, plus further options such as different materials, knot densities and finishes. Customers can also change the carpets' measurements and shapes.

The Makalu app visualises all choices immediately: the integrated "Explorug" tool creates a realistic image of the desired carpet and places it in the prospective customers' rooms, also as an image. This allows customers to immediately check whether the carpet suits them – and modify it if necessary.

All Makalu carpets are handmade in Kathmandu, Nepal, under fair conditions, in knot densities of 60 to 150 knots per inch2, with or without antique wash, on reauest also hand-tufted.
