The Belgian home furnishings chain Casa has filed for insolvency. The company had already been granted creditor protection at the end of October but was unable to find a viable solution. In Belgium, 63 stores and the distribution centre in Olen will close, affecting a total of 544 employees.
The impact on branches in the Netherlands and other countries remains unclear. Casa operates in multiple European markets and employs a total of 2,230 staff. The Commercial Court in Turnhout will now decide on the next steps.
