The Balta Group breathes a sigh of relief: Europe's largest manufacturer of textile floor coverings, which at times was hit very hard by the economic consequences of the Covid pandemic, reports a 19.5% jump in turnover for the first half of 2021 compared to the same period last year, to EUR 318.3 million. EBITDA jumped by 142.2% to EUR 44.2 million. This is the fourth consecutive quarter of revenue and profit growth for the Belgians. While the two divisions Rugs and Residential recovered significantly with +48% and +27% respectively in the first six months of the year, the Commercial sales division continues to struggle with the consequences of the Covid 19 crisis and recorded a renewed decline of 7.4 %.
